The
Bike as bought (left). It was only running on one pot and was in a seriously
uncared for condition. Turned out that the misfire was due to a duff plug
(even after trying two others), but I'd already decided to strip it down
to 'the last nut and bolt'
Once the engine was stripped, the mains seemed a bit rough, so that was the begining of a costly rebuild. Also by this time I discovered that although the bike was an XS650 SF US import, the engine was actually from an XS2 (or at least some of it!) which made things even more expensive potentially, as the XS2 pistons are unavailable. . |
